FROM MARCH 6-9 AT MATTER and SHAPE (2026) IN PARIS

MATTER and SHAPE (2026) の開催にあわせ、VEDAは、新作コレクション「SHAPED BY PERCEPTION」を発表します。

SHAPED BY PERCEPTION

This collection transcends time and space, interacting with our senses and possessing the potential for infinite transformation.
Everything we see and touch acquires meaning through our individual perception.

For over a thousand years, Japan has had a culture that finds beauty in imperfection. Flaws and imperfections are complemented in the mind of the viewer, leading to perfection. Beauty resides in this process, and this philosophy has been passed down to modern sensibilities.

This philosophy is deeply rooted in VEDA aesthetics and forms the foundation of this collection.
The asymmetrical form and chaotically carved uneven surface are not only visually appealing, but also change shape with the touch and the shifting of light. While striving for relative perfection, the shapes retain their imperfections, and are hand-carved one by one by Japanese artisans, resulting in a limited production of seamless, one-of-a-kind objects.

The materials used are Bianco Carrara and Botticino Classico from Italy, Nero Marquina from Spain, and Ukinishi from Japan. Formed over millions of years, stone is a limited resource, and no two pieces have the same pattern or texture. The individuality of each stone, imbued with a different geological history, embodies the VEDA philosophy, which places natural stone itself at the center of the design.

The moment you hold it in your hand, its form begins to quietly reflect the emotions and thoughts of the viewer. Born from the intersection of nature, craftsmanship, and Japanese aesthetics, this object speaks to you as your gaze focuses on it, revealing your own interpretation.

"SHAPED BY PERCEPTION" - Beauty is shaped by the senses. It is a journey created by your own perception.
